Restrictions on Fertilizer Application

Restrictions on Fertilizer Application  
There was Board consensus to direct the staff to move forward with the following directives  
pertaining to potential revisions to expanding restrictions on fertilizer application and to bring it  
back to the Board for discussion at a future Board meeting: the restrictive period for Nitrogen  
fertilizers to be December 15th through March 15th and June 1st through September 30th; no  
directive on slow release Nitrogen fertilizers; buffer setbacks to a minimum of 25-feet, more if  
allowed; Phosphorus fertilizers are not allowed in the banned period of Nitrogen fertilizers;  
GI-BMP training is required for managers and supervisors, if not already a requirement; and  
mandatory posting of restrictions at places that sell fertilizers.
