Presentation by the General Planning Consultant, Kimley-Horn & Associates, of
the Needs Assessment for the 2050 Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP)
and Review of the 2050 LRTP Draft Cost Feasible Plan
William Roll with Kimley-Horn, General Planning Consultant for the MPO, reviewed the
Needs Assessment for the 2050 Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) and the draft
Cost Feasible Plan. The MPO has identified the transportation capacity needs for the
two counties and is identifying priority projects which will be considered for funding.
Priority projects in the plan may include such improvements on portions of the following
facilities:
· Suncoast Parkway Phase 3 to US 19 (Citrus)
· US 41 north of Inverness (Citrus)
· US 41 Spring Hill Drive to Powell Road (Hernando)
· County Line Road (Hernando)
· Lecanto Highway to SR 200 (Citrus)

Mr. Esposito provided the following updates:
· There will be two public workshops for the 2050 Long-Range Transportation Plan
(LRTP) on August 5, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in Brooksville and at 5:00 p.m. in Inverness.
The workshops can be attended in person or virtually. An email invitation was sent
earlier this week - please share with others who would benefit from this information.
[Subsequent to the meeting, the workshops were postponed due to tropical storm
Debby and rescheduled for August 22, 2024.]
· A 2055 Florida Transportation Plan development is also in progress. A flyer was
distributed for the public and partners to engage in the process, and the website is
