Presentation Regarding Solid Waste Municipal Service Benefit Unit Rates

BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Solid Waste Department has contracted Raftelis Financial Consultants, Inc., to perform a comprehensive update of the County’s current solid waste assessment Municipal Service Benefit Unit (MSBU) rates. Raftelis Financial Consultants, Inc., will be presenting their findings and will request the Board to give direction for any rate adjustments.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
MSBU rate adjustments, if any, would be recognized in the Fiscal Year 2025 budget.
LEGAL NOTE
The Board has authority to act on this matter pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended the Board provide direction for new rate adjustments. If the Board directs staff to increase rates, a public hearing will be scheduled at a later date.
