Resolution Setting FY 2025-26 Non-Ad Valorem Assessment for Local Provider Participation Fund
body
BRIEF OVERVIEW
Pursuant to the Hernando County Local Participation Fund (LPPF) Ordinance, codified in Chapter 15, Article II of the Hernando County Code of Ordinances, as adopted on August 24, 2021, the Hernando County Board of Commissioners will convene a public hearing to discuss, consider, and take action on a resolution setting the rate of a special assessment against private for-profit and not-for-profit hospitals within the county to fund the non-federal share of Medicaid payments associated with local services.
Following public comment on the item, it would be appropriate for the Board to adopt the resolution and non-ad valorem assessment roll.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The levying of a special assessment pursuant to Ordinance 2021-16 will result in no economic impact to the County budget and no increase or decrease in County staffing. The funds collected via the special assessment will reimburse all costs incurred by the County for the creation and administration of the special assessment.
LEGAL NOTE
The Board is authorized to act upon this matter pursuant to Chapter 15, Article II of the Codified Ordinances, and Chapters 125 and 197, Florida Statutes.
