Amendment No. 1 to Contract With Straughn Trout Architects for Architectural and Engineering Services for Tax Collector Building (Contract No. 21-RFQ-AE-016; Amount: $536,866.50)
body
BRIEF OVERVIEW
On November 29, 2022, the Board approved the award of Contract 21-RFQ-AE-016 to Straughn Trout Architects for Architectural and Engineering Services for the Tax Collector Building in the amount of $1,457,621.00. This approval included Supplemental Services #16 Ecological Services-Gopher in the amount of $162,940.00. This amount was transposed with Supplemental Services #15 Site Civil Engineering at $41,245.00. This amendment will serve to correct that transposition so that the contracted amount for Site Civil Engineering is $162,940.00 and the originally contracted amount for Ecological Services (Gopher) is $41,245.00.
On January 24, 2023, an initial 100% site census survey was conducted and located 143 gopher tortoise burrows. Of the 143 burrows, 136 were identified as potentially occupied, and seven were identified as abandoned.
Prior to initiating gopher tortoise relocation, additional services are being requested to accommodate the number of gopher tortoises and burrows encountered upon completion of the survey. The request for services update for Task 103 (Ecological Services) is to provide additional funding to complete the activities required for the census, permitting, and relocation of gopher tortoises from the project site in accordance with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) Gopher Tortoise Permitting Guidelines (FWC 2020).
