BRIEF OVERVIEW

The Procurement Department issued Invitation to Bid (ITB) No. 22-T00066/JF on April 20, 2022, at the request of the Hernando County Facilities Maintenance Department, to obtain bids for elevator maintenance, repair and testing services.

 

On September 13, 2022, the Board approved the award of the contract to Right Away Elevator Maintenance, Inc., in the amount of $69,120.00 for an initial three (3) year term with two (2) one (1) year unilateral renewal options and authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to approve change orders as they become necessary and required.

 

The Hernando County Facilities Maintenance Department is requesting Board approval to facilitate the upgrade of a total of four (4) elevators located at the Government Center and the Courthouse in the amount of $ $65,345.92.

 

As per State requirements, the elevator upgrades are to be completed by December 31, 2023. The Department obtained a quote from Right Way Elevator Maintenance, Inc., in the amount of $65,345.92 to perform the required elevator upgrades for the Government Center and County Courthouse.

 

Any requested increases to the approved annual spend will be brought back to the Board for review and approval, as needed.

 

The Chief Procurement Officer has reviewed this requirement for conformance to the Procurement Ordinance and Purchasing Policies and Procedures.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Funding is available in Account Repairs 01701 - Facilities Maintenance 5304601.

RECOMMENDATION

It recommended that the Board approve elevator upgrades in the amount of $65,345.92 for a total of four (4) elevators located at the Government Center and Courthouse under Contract 22-T00066/JF awarded to Right Way Elevator Maintenance, Inc.

 

It is further recommended that the Board authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to approve change orders as become necessary and required and up to allowable budget amount.
