BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Florida Department of Health awarded Hernando County for the Emergency Medical Services Matching Grant. Under previous grant applications, Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services has received funding for automated cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) machines to support the busiest fire stations in the County. This award will allow for 11 units to be purchased. The City of Brooksville has asked to partner with the County to receive one automated CPR machine to increase the efficiencies of their Basic Life Support (BLS) functions. These machines have the capability to significantly increase positive health outcomes to those residents experiencing cardiac arrest.
