Deed of Dedication and Resolution Authorizing Sale of County Property, Hernando Park, to City of Brooksville
body
BRIEF OVERVIEW
This agenda item is for the consideration of dedicating Hernando Park to The City of Brooksville. Hernando Park, consisting of 2.2 acres, more or less, is a portion of parcel Key 420459, which is located in the downtown area of The City of Brooksville.
Hernando Park is currently owned and maintained by Hernando County. Upon approval by this board, this dedication will formally transfer the ownership and management responsibilities of Hernando Park to The City of Brooksville. This transfer will enhance local government and community involvement in the park’s maintenance and development. The existing lease agreement at the Teen Hall building and sponsorship agreement for the bandshell will be maintained by The City of Brooksville. The transfer of Hernando Park to The City of Brooksville, if approved, excludes the Frederick Eugene Lykes Jr. Memorial Library.
Pursuant to the reverter clause incorporated into the proposed County Deed, ownership shall revert back to Hernando County if the property ever ceases to be used and maintained as a park and if residents of the unincorporated areas of the County are not granted equal access and use of the property at all times or discriminated against in regard to program registration, pricing, or any other policy.
