BRIEF OVERVIEW

On February 14, 2024, Hernando County Fire Emergency Services requested piggyback of the Omnia Contract No. 23-909-027-05-GC-C for Job Order Contracting Services, with a contract expiration of December 31, 2025, the Contract provides for two (2) additional one (1) year renewal periods.

 

Hernando County Fire Emergency Services requests piggyback approval with Johnson Laux Construction, LLC to provide retrofitting of hurricane protection for Fire Station No. 1 located on Parker Avenue in Spring Hill.  This retrofit will allow for hurricane impact windows, hurricane impact garage bay doors, and a metal roof in the estimated spend amount of $173,097.95.

 

State Funded Grant Agreement with State Division of Emergency Management for Hurricane Loss Mitigation Grant for Fire Station No. 1 Hurricane Protection was approved by the Board on June 13, 2023, Doc Id: 12245.

 

Hernando County Procurement Department has assigned No. 24-P0130B to this Contract for tracking purposes.

 

The Chief Procurement Officer has reviewed this requirement for conformance to Procurement Ordinance and Purchasing Policies and Procedures.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Funding is available in the amount of $173,097.95 in Hernando County Grant Funded Account BLDGS-CONSTN AND/OR IMP No. 1691-32207-5606201, GMS # 504.  The grant is reimbursable at 100% reimbursement.  Purchases will only be made against the available department budget.

 

LEGAL NOTE

The Board has the authority to act on this matter pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.

 

recommendation

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended the Board approve the utilization of Pinellas County Schools and Omnia Partners Contract No. 23-909-027-05-GC-C with Johnson Laux Construction, LLC for job order contracting services in the estimated spend amount of $173,097.95.

 

It is further recommended the Board approve the Chief Procurement Officer to renew the contract with the same terms and conditions and approve change orders as they become necessary and required up to annual budgeted amounts.
