Modified Utility Work and Design by Highway Contractor Agreement (at Utility Expense) With Department of Transportation; and Three-Party Escrow Agreement for Utility Work Along US 301 From Pasco County Line to State Road 50/Cortez Boulevard and Associated Resolutions
body
BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has a project to widen US 301 from the Pasco County Line to SR 50/Cortez Boulevard. The Hernando County Utilities Department (HCUD) has utilities within the existing US 301 right-of-way that need to be relocated due to the project. HCUD will also be upgrading existing water mains and installing new water mains along the stretch of US 301. In addition, HCUD will be installing new sewer force mains along US 301. The Utility Work by Highway Contractor Agreement (UWHCA) with FDOT allows HCUD to use the contractor selected by FDOT through the Design Build project process to relocate, upgrade and install water and sewer utilities along US 301 from the Pasco County Line to SR 50/Cortez Boulevard. The Engineer's estimate for this project is $3,282,482.00. Approval of these agreements and the wire transfer of funds allows for the timely execution of the work required to relocate, upgrade and install the existing and new utilities as needed.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds will be available in HCUD Renewal and Replacement Accounts: Improv-Water Line Upgrade 4121-07201-5626302 in the amount of $2,232,088.00 and Improv-Wtr PLNT/Well/Stor 4121-07201-5626303 in the amount of $1,050,394.00 upon approval of the attached budget resolution.
