body

BRIEF OVERVIEW

On September 24, 2024, the Board approved the award of Contract No. 23-RFQ00466/AP for Construction Management Services for Fire Station Prototypes to Manhattan Construction Company, LLC.

The Board also approved a Pre-Construction Fee in the total amount of $59,418.00 for construction management services for Fire Station No. 15.

The agreement was designed to allow its use for multiple fire station prototypes and the Department would like to establish a Preconstruction Phase for Fire Station No. 16.

The project site for Fire Station No. 16 is county owned and located at the intersection of Commercial Way and Atlanta Avenue in Spring Hill, Hernando County.  At this time, the projected construction cost is estimated at $7.25 million.

The Procurement Department prepared Amendment No. One (1) seeking Board approval for a Pre-Construction Fee in the total amount of $67,709.83 for construction management services for Fire Station No. 16.

Among other deliverables, the Pre-Construction Fee in the amount of $67,709.83 would allow Manhattan Construction Company, LLC to review design concepts, develop a bid package, prepare construction cost budget estimates and present a Guaranteed Maximum Price Proposal (GMP).

The GMP proposal for Fire Station No. 16, which is going to include the Construction Manager Fee, will be brought back separately to the Board as an amendment for review and approval.

Any subsequent approvals for Construction Management Services for additional fire stations will also be brought back to the Board via amendment.

The Chief Procurement Officer has reviewed this requirement for conformance to Procurement Ordinance and Purchasing Policies and Procedures.
