BRIEF OVERVIEW
The purpose of the Emergency Preparedness and Assistance Grant (EMPA) is to provide state funds to assist local governments in preparing for all hazards as authorized by Section 252.373, Florida Statutes. Funds shall be allocated to implement and administer county emergency management programs.
Hernando County has been awarded $105,806.00 to fund the following allowable expenditures:
• Information Technology improvements, including computers, integrated laptops, docking stations, power decks, and other technological equipment and supplies for the Emergency Operations Center
• Memberships and Dues for Professional Organizations
• Supplies and Materials for the Emergency Operations Center
• Training Costs, including program development and delivery, and workshop attendance
The period of performance for this grant award is July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.
