body
BRIEF OVERVIEW
On September 19, 2024, Hernando County Transit Department requested approval to piggyback nationally awarded contract of the Central Texas Council of Governments with 791 Purchasing Cooperative.
Hernando County Procurement is requesting approval to enter the 791 Purchasing Cooperative (791 COOP).
Hernando County Code of Ordinances, Article V, Purchasing Regulations/Procurement Section 2-108 Bidding Procedure paragraph c2 allows “The purchase and/or leasing of goods, supplies, materials or services for county use from a valid current continuing contract or from other valid current continuing contracts with the State of Florida or other local governments or similar entities, including but not limited to associations acting on behalf of state, county or municipal officials.”
The Central Texas Council of Governments with 791 Purchasing Cooperative created national cooperative contract purchasing solutions on behalf of its member agencies which include all government, education, and non-profit agencies nationwide. These cooperative contract opportunities offer both time and money savings for their users by consolidating the efforts of numerous individually prepared solicitations to one national, cooperatively shared process. This process leverages the aggregation of volume from members nationwide.
Hernando County Procurement Department would like authorization from the Board of County Commissioners to approve on-going use of the 791 Purchasing Cooperative (791 COOP) Contracts and Agreements annually. Multiple departments will be utilizing these contracts.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds will be available from various Hernando County Departments. Department purchases can only be performed with available department budgets.
LEGAL NOTE
In accordance with Part II, Chapter 2, Article V of the Hernando County Code of Ordinances.
