BRIEF OVERVIEW

Lake Townsen Park Americans with Disabilities Act Pedestrian Sidewalk and Roadway Maintenance Improvement Project was awarded by the Board on June 13, 2023, Doc Id. No. 12321, to Seggie Custom Builders, LLC in the amount of $298,799.49.

 

Change Order One (1) was for additional materials and time extension needed to complete the additional items in the scope of work, increasing the Contract by $18,102.25 from $298,799.49 to $316,901.74.

 

Change Order Two (2) was for additional thickness of sidewalks, retaining wall, removal of trees, additional signage, and removal of debris, increasing the Contract by $14,869.23 from $316,901.74 to $331,770.97.

 

Change Order Three (3) was for a no-cost time extension due to contractor familiarization with procedures for invoicing and change orders.

 

Change Order Four (4) was for a no-cost change to extend the warranty period for repairs made to concrete with Top ’N Bond Concrete Patcher.

 

Change Order Five (5) was for a no-cost time extension due to the punch list being incomplete and failing concrete break test.

 

Change Order Six (6) was for a no-cost time extension due to concrete compressive strength test failing.

 

Change Order Seven (7) was for a decrease of $11,600.64 due to additions and deductions for completion of the project, decreasing the Contract by $11,600.64 from $331,770.97 to $320,170.33.

 

The Final Contract amount is $320,170.33 (PO No. 23000908).

 

The work has been completed and Seggie Custom Builders, LLC has submitted its Final Pay Application No. Seven (7) in the amount of $16,008.52.

 

All releases properly include Hernando County.  Seggie Custom Builders, LLC has signed a release of lien.  All notices of lien or claims of lien have been released on the project.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Funding in the amount of $16,008.52 is available in Hernando County Parks and Recreation Department:

 

The retainage amount is maintained on the balance sheet: 

Fund: 0011- General Fund, Department: 04441 - Parks & Recreation, Account: 2050214 - Retainage - Seggie Custom Builders, LLC. 

 

LEGAL NOTE

The Board has the authority to take the recommended action on this item pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended the Board approve final pay Request No. Seven (7) in the amount of $16,008.52 to Seggie Custom Builders, LLC to close out Lake Townsen Park Americans with Disabilities Act Pedestrian Sidewalk and Roadway Maintenance Improvement Project under Contract No. 23-C00022/GL.

 

The final Contract amount is $320,170.33, an increase of $21,370.84 from BOCC award.
