BRIEF OVERVIEW

On July 30, 2024, the Board approved Contract No. 24-TFG00704/AP Construction Services Under $500K for Grant Projects (Agenda Item No. 14279), pre-qualifying firms under four categories, A-Public Works, B-Waterways, C-Utilities, and D-Facilities, to provide quotes for County projects as needed.

 

On May 13, 2025, the BOCC approved award of Contract No. 24-TFG00704 Quote No. 5 to Hydro-Klean, LLC for the Hernando Beach Wastewater Resiliency Manhole Coating project for $295,086.00.

 

The purchase order was originally issued for $295,086.00.  Change Order No. 2 in the amount of $200,318.50, would increase the purchase order to $495,404.50.

 

Change Order No. 1 was approved by the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) on October 22, 2025, for a no-cost time extension.

 

Hernando County Utilities Department is requesting Change order No. 2 to add 44 manholes including ring/cover replacements, inflow protectors, grouting, and coating manhole; add one pump station to include grouting and coating. This change request will add 90 days to project bringing the final completion date to March 15, 2026.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Funding in the amount of $200,318.50 is available in the following Fund:

Fund: 4121 - HCUD Renewal and Replacement, Department:  33510 - HCUD-HB WW Resiliency, Account: 5626323 - Impro-WWTP/Liftstation

 

CIP 111944 - Hernando Beach WW Resiliency, approved in the FY 26 budget.  GMS#536.

The Board has the authority to act on this item pursuant to Chapter 2, Article V of the Hernando County Code of Ordinances, and Chapter 125, Fla. Statutes.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended the Board approve Change Order No. 2 in the amount of $200,318.50 to Hydro-Klean, LLC to Purchase Order No. 25000763, bringing the total purchase order amount to $495,404.50.
