BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Hernando County Public Safety Department is requesting the purchase of one hundred (100) sets of rescue coats and pants. The Department received a quote from Municipal Emergency Services, an awarded Vendor under Lake County Contract No. 17-0606, in the amount of $89,905.00.
On November 14, 2017, the Purchasing and Contracts Department obtained Board use approval to Piggyback off Lake County Contract No. 17-0606, Fire Equipment Parts - Supplies - Service, Doc. Id. No. 13777, which has a modification extension term ending September 30, 2022, or until new contract is awarded. The Purchasing and Contracts Department assigned File No. 17-P00114 for tracking purposes. Any purchases above the Advertised Bidding Requirement (ABR) of $35,000.00 - is required to be brought to the Board for purchase approval.
The Chief Procurement Officer has reviewed this requirement for conformance to the Procurement Ordinance and Purchasing Policies and Procedures.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding to award the Contract in the amount of $89,905.00 is available in Expense Account No. 02262-5305207 Logistics - Fire, Safety Gear and Supplies.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve the purchase of one hundred (100) sets of TECGEN 51 - Deluxe Coats and TECGEN 51 - Deluxe Pants under Piggyback Contract with Lake County, Contract No. 17-0606, Fire Equipment Parts - Supplies - Service from Municipal Emergency Services with the modification extension term ending September 30, 2022, or until a new contract is awarded in the amount of $89,905.00 under Hernando County File No. 17-P00114 (Board Use approval of Lake County Contract per Doc 13777) for tracking purposes. It is further recommended that the Board authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to approve change orders as they become necessary and required.
Prior Board use approval (Doc 13777) required that any purchase exceeding $35,000.00 would require Board purchase approval.
