body

BRIEF OVERVIEW

The President and CEO of Premier Community HealthCare, Joey Resnick, will provide the Board with a presentation proposing to enter into lease negotiations for County Property at the West Side Government Center on Forest Oaks Boulevard. Premier Community HealthCare currently operates two locations in County Buildings that house the State Health Department.

Premier Healthcare is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that is designated as a Federally Qualified Health Center.  In 2025, Premier served 8,495 patients in Hernando County. With 65,035 county residents living at or below 200% of the federal poverty level, the population that Premier’s discount fee program is designed to support, Premier currently reaches only 13.7% of the low-income population.

Premier proposes to partner with Hernando County to build a new integrated health center at the County-owned property next to the Spring Hill Health Department which is located at 7551 Forest Oaks Boulevard.   Premier requests to obtain a long-term no-cost lease on the property.

The West Hernando Government Center Campus currently has the following complimentary agencies located on this site: Health Department, Premier Community HealthCare, Vicent House, Supervisor or Election, Tax Collector, Property Appraiser, Sheriff Substation, and Clerk of Court. Future planned additions to this campus include Housing and Supportive Services and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).

FINANCIAL IMPACT

No Cost to Hernando County
