BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Hernando County Department of Public Works (DPW) currently utilizes Econolite Traffic Equipment at over eighty-five (85) traffic intersection across Hernando County. The traffic products related to this purchase will provide upgrades to existing equipment for better overall operation of its systems and provides other related efficiencies. Such upgrades include converting traffic signal detection from loops to video. No other manufacturer can supply parts or related equipment that are interchangeable with this traffic system.
Econolite Control Products, Inc., is the sole developer, provider, and manufacturer of “Econolite” and “Safe Tran” products in the State of Florida. This fact is verified by the formal letter from Econolite Control Products, Inc.
The Procurement Department posted Notice of Intended Sole Source Purchase of subject project on March 10, 2023, with the last date for market challenges on March 31, 2023. As of March 31, 2023, the Procurement Department received no challenges from any sources.

• Eight (8) Astro-Brac Camera 120” at $225.00 each.
• Two (2) 18 AWG Polyethelene 1,000-foot Spool at $580.00 each.
• Two (2) C/C, BIU, SDLC, 8 Feet at $48.00 each.
• Two (2) Autoscope Vision Comm Manager, ACP at $3,720.68 each.
• Two (2) TS2-1 Cabinets with Riser and Plug Ins at $17,559.35.
• Two (2) Cabinet Extender Base at $537.00 each.
• Two (2) Cobalt C-Series TS1/TS2-2 at $3,979.78.
• Two (2) Ethernet Switch at $2,225.00 each.
• Two (2) Cabinet Tariffs at $79.65 each.
• Two (2) Cobalt C-Series Tariffs at $25.22 each.
• Two (2) Assy C/C, BIU, SDLC Tariffs at $0.57 each.
• Two (2) Vision Comm Manager Tariffs at $1.32 each.
• One (1) Shipping 474.00.
• One (1) Shipping 970.00
Total Purchase Amount: $108,717.14.
These products will match and upgrade the existing traffic control equipment currently being used by DPW throughout Hernando County.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding for the traffic signal cameras and cabinets totaling $108,717.14 is available in Expenses Account No. 1017-3233-5616307 Local Option Gas Tax 1-6, Traffic, Improvements-Signals.

In accordance with Part II, Chapter 2, Article V of the Hernando County Code of Ordinances.as well as Chapter 125, Florida Statutes. Sole/Single Source Notice of Intent was posted on March 10, 2023, per the Purchasing and Contracts Policies and Procedures No. 070A, Paragraph IV. Sub-paragraph 4.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended the Board approve sole source purchase from Econolite Control Products, Inc., for traffic signal cabinets and cameras for traffic signals in the total purchase amount of $108,717.14. It is further recommended that the Board authorize the Chief Procurement Officer (CPO) to approve change orders as they become necessary and required with proposer documentation and available department budget.
