BRIEF OVERVIEW
On May 14, 2019, the Board approved Contract No. 19-R00007/BK Request for Qualifications for Construction Services Under $200K, Doc Id. No. 15661, prequalifying nine (9) Contractors for four (4) Construction Categories. The Procurement Department was to bring to the Board any quote that exceeded the ABR of $35,000.00.
On March 15, 2023, the Hernando County Utilities Department solicited Quote No. 92 under Contract No. 19-R00007/BK for replacement of an existing eight (8) inch water main with approximately 562 LF of 8-inch pvc water main and 64 LF of 4-inch pvc water main. The intent is to connect side streets on the West side of Keysville Avenue from Northcliffe Boulevard North to just past Puritan Lane.
The requested replacement is due to the age of the existing pipe and previous numerous water main breaks in this area. The existing water main will be abandoned in place after the new main is cleared for service and tied in.
The quote was sent to the six (6) Pre-qualified Contractors under Category C (Utilities).

Funds are available from Hernando County Utilities Department Budget Line Item Expense Account No. 4121-07201-5626302 HCUD/Renewal & Replacement /, Improv- Water Line Upgrade in the amount of $199,999.94.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the attached work authorization for the approval of Quote No. 92 under Contract No. 19-R00007/BK, to Deeb Construction and Development Co., for the Keysville Water Main Replacement in the amount of $199,999.94. It is further recommended that the Board authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to approve change orders as they become necessary and required.
