Ratification of Nomination Form to Lowe’s 2026 Community Impact Grant Program for Coach Lorenzo Hamilton Sr. Park Interior Renovation Project

body

BRIEF OVERVIEW

On February 27, 2026, Lowe’s launched a nationwide call for communities to nominate impactful renovation projects that strengthen local resources and public spaces. Nominations were open through March 20, 2026. Lowe’s will fund up to 100 renovation grants for eligible projects which will include improvements to community spaces.

A nomination form was completed for Coach Lorenzo Hamilton Sr. Park interior renovations such as replacement of aging ceiling tiles, installing new flooring, and refreshing the interior with paint to create a cleaner, brighter, and more welcoming environment for visitors. In addition to interior upgrades, the project would include exterior beautification efforts to enhance the visual appeal of the building and surrounding area. Improvements may include landscaping enhancements, site clean-up, and general aesthetic upgrades that will help the community center better reflect the pride and importance of the park within the community. The estimated project cost is $50,000 and the application was submitted for that amount. This is not currently a budgeted project.

The grant application was submitted on March 19, 2026.  If selected, the projects would be advertised as community events with public participation including Lowe’s encouraging the participation of its local employees.
