BRIEF OVERVIEW
On December 15, 2025, Hernando County Facilities Department submitted a request to the Procurement Department to piggyback Fire Extinguisher and Range Hood Fire Suppression Systems with Seminole County Schools (Contract No. 25260039B; Hernando County File No. 26-P0276) with Thompson Safety, LLC for Fire Extinguisher and Range Hood Suppression System Inspections and Services with a contract expiration date of November 17, 2028.
The Contract provides for one (1) additional two (2) year renewal period.
The Chief Procurement Officer has reviewed this requirement for conformance to Procurement Ordinance and Purchasing Policies and Procedures.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding in the amount of $20,063.00 is available in the following:
Department: 01701- Facilities Maintenance, Account: 5303401 - Contracted Services in the amount of $13,188
Department: 01701- Facilities Maintenance, Account: 5303496 - Contracted Services Jail in the amount of $1,875
Department: 01701- Facilities Maintenance, Account: 5304631 - Repair/Maint Jail in the amount of $1,000
Department: 01701- Facilities Maintenance, Account: 5304601 - Repair/Maint in the amount of $2,000
Department: 01703- Chinsegut Hill Facilities, Account: 5303401 - Contracted Services in the amount of $1,000
Department: 01703- Chinsegut Hill Facilities, Account: 5304601 - Repair/Maint in the amount of $1,000
Funds will be available from various Hernando County Departments as FY funding is budgeted and not to exceed budgeted line-item amounts. County-wide Department Purchase will only be made against available department budgets.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended the Board approve the utilization of Seminole County Schools contact with Thompson Safety, LLC for fire extinguisher and range hood fire suppression systems, Contract No. 25260039B; Hernando County File No. 26-P0276, with an estimated annual spend amount of $40,000.00 or as future Hernando County department budgets allow.
It is further recommended the Board authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to renew the contract with the same terms and conditions and approve change orders as they become necessary and required up to annual budgeted amounts.
