BRIEF OVERVIEW
On July 12, 2023, the Fleet Department requested the Term Sole Source for Outside repairs for Pierce Equipment used by Hernando County Fire Rescue. Therefore, a sole source request for Outside Repairs of Pierce Equipment is being requested to process repairs on an as-needed basis.
On February 2, 2024, a Sole/Single Source Notice of Intent to award for Term Sole Source Contract No. 23-TSS00405/TC to Ten-8 Fire & Safety, LLC was posted per Procurement Policies and Procedures. The Procurement Department has received no communications regarding the Notice of Intent to Sole Source. The last day for receipt of information was February 17, 2024.
In the State of Florida, the vendor Ten-8 Fire & Safety, LLC is the only factory authorized vendor in our geographical area for the servicing of Pierce equipment and this fact is verified by a formal letter from Pierce Manufacturing, Inc.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding in the amount of $20,000 is available in Fleet Vehicle Maintenance, Account No. 5071-08021-5303476.

recommendation
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended the Board approve and authorize the Chairperson’s signature on attached Term Sole Source Contract No. 23-TSS00405/TC to Ten-8 Fire & Safety, LLC for outside repairs of Pierce equipment, with an estimated annual spend of $20,000.00, for a (1) year term contract with one (1) six (6) month unilateral renewal option available at the discretion of the County.
It is further recommended that the Board approve the Chief Procurement Officer to approve change orders for 23-TSS00405/TC as they become necessary and allowable up to approved budgeted amounts and to approve renewal of the contract when there is no change to terms, conditions and/or pricing.
