BRIEF OVERVIEW

On October 10, 2023, the Board approved the award of Contract 23-C003269/AP to B.R.W. Contracting, Inc., for Reconstruction and Paving of Royal Highlands and Ridge Manor Roads in the amount of $2,518,806.00. The approved award included the following county-funded streets:

 

F - Arbor Street                                           $   459,215.00

G - Emerald Drive                                           $   525,526.00

H - Glenchester Drive                      $   967,436.00

I - Nodoc Drive                                           $   566,629.00

$2,518,806.00

 

Also, on October 10, 2023, the Board discussed five Municipal Service Benefit Unit (MSBU) funded projects possible for eligibility for the County’s subsidized one-third cost share funding:

At the Board’s direction, the Procurement Department reached an agreement with B.R.W. Contracting, Inc., resulting in a request for Amendment No. 1 in the total amount of $794,819.00 to add items D and E to the contract:

The requested Amendment No. 1 total dollar amount is $794,819.00 and B.R.W. Contracting, Inc., has agreed to hold the pricing as per originally submitted bid.

 

The Chief Procurement Officer has reviewed this requirement for conformance to Procurement Ordinance and Purchasing Policies and Procedures.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Funds are available in Account No. 1013-03211-5606308 IMPROV-ROAD ASSMT PROJECT.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the attached Amendment No. One (1) for the addition of Penn State Road ($398,569.00) and Scaup Duck Avenue ($396,250.00) to the reconstruction and paving of Royal Highlands and Ridge Manor Roads project in the amount of $794,819.00 under Contract No. 23-C00326/AP.

 

It is further recommended that the Board authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to approve change orders as they become necessary and required and up to allowable budget amounts.
