Installation of Additional Street Lights Within Spring Hill Street Lighting Municipal Service Benefit Unit
body
BRIEF OVERVIEW
In accordance with Board of County Commissioners Policy 16-1 relative to Municipal Service Benefit Unit’s (MSBUs), requests for six new streetlights were received from residents within the Spring Hill Street Lighting MSBU. Four streetlights will be installed on existing poles and two streetlights will require the addition of two 35-foot wood poles to be installed. The six new streetlights plus one reactivation of an existing streetlight are proposed to supplement the existing street lighting system. There are currently 4,468 streetlights currently paid for by the MSBU. These additions will bring the total to 4,475 streetlights.
The rental cost for all seven (7) type 205 LED Cobra 100W streetlights is approximately $10.13/month each and the two pole rental fees are $3.50/month each, impacting the fiscal year budget approximately $78.00/month ($936.00 annually). The budget includes funding to install and operate 20 additional lights each fiscal year, of which eleven (11) additions have been added to date. The Withlacoochee River Electric Cooperative (WREC) has reviewed and approved the requested street lighting locations and has submitted the attached contract addendum for the Board approval.
