Review and Approval of the Proposed 2027 Meeting Schedule for the Hernando-Citrus Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Board and Committees

BRIEF OVERVIEW
Attached is a proposed schedule for calendar year 2027 for the Hernando-Citrus Metropolitan Planning Organization Board and associated committees. Pursuant to the Bylaws, the meeting locations alternate between Hernando and Citrus counties. The meetings of the MPO Board alternate on an annual basis and for 2027 will be held in Citrus County at the Lecanto Government Building on the first Thursday of the month beginning at 1:30 p.m. The Transportation Disadvantaged Local Coordinating Boards for Citrus and Hernando meet in their respective counties.
The Technical Advisory Committee, Citizens Advisory Committee, and Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee meetings are proposed for 2027 according to the attached schedule. While monthly meetings are planned, the committees typically convene only 4 to 5 times a year, depending on the required deliverables. After reviewing the meetings held over the past few years, the schedule was designed to anticipate when the meetings are likely to occur. Meeting locations will alternate between Hernando and Citrus County. This approach aims to achieve efficiency and fairness for committee members representing both counties.
While not all scheduled meetings are expected to take place-since they depend on local, state, and federal deadlines and work processes-meeting spaces must be reserved well in advance to ensure availability. Meetings may be cancelled if there is no business to discuss that otherwise can be rescheduled on a subsequent date.
On August 27, 2026, the MPO’s Board’s Technical Advisory Committee (TAC), the Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC), and the Bicycle/Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) will have reviewed the proposed 2027 Meeting Schedule. Due to the timing of the Board’s packet distribution, the recommendations of the Committees will be provided to the MPO Board at the September 3, 2026, meeting.
