BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Florida Department of Management Services has awarded the E911 State Board Grant to Hernando County in the amount of $603,979.00 (Grant No. S22-23-01-34).
On November 8, 2022, the Board of County Commissioners authorized the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) to apply for this grant. These funds will be used to upgrade the routing functions and increase redundancy to the 911 system in accordance with Next Generation 911 and National Emergency Number Association (NENA) i3 Standard.
The attached Certificate of Acceptance and Agreement for Installation of Emergency Services Internet Protocol Network (ESInet) and Next Generation Core Services (NGCS) Requirements with NGA 911, LLC must be completed and returned to the Department. The Certificate of Acceptance constitutes official acceptance of the award and must be received by the Department prior to the reimbursement of any project expenditures. The NGA 911 Contract constitutes an agreement between Hernando County and the authorized vendor to provide the needed services that will be covered by the Grant funds. Grant funds will pay for the first two years of expenditures then we will re-apply for grant funding. If grant funding is not approved, the remaining balance will come from E911 Funds.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
An increase in revenue in Account No. 0011-32403-3342153 in the amount of $603,979.00. An increase in expenditures in Account No. 0011-32403-5303401 in the amount of $603,979.00. There are no matching funds required.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve the grant award and authorize and approve the Chairman’s signature on the attached Award Agreement Certificate of Acceptance, associated budget resolution and NGA 911, LLC contract.
