BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Hernando County Waterways Department is in need of additional space to accommodate the growing requirements of equipment and staff who patrol and ensure the safety of our waterways.
After lengthy negotiations, the waterfront property adjacent to the Waterways Department location on Pine Dale Court has become available for purchase.
The acquisition of this property presents a unique opportunity to enhance our operations in the most ideal location, as well as meet our objective of improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the Waterways Department.
Staff recommends that the Board approve the Contract to Purchase for Parcel Key 152426 on Pine Dale Court for $700,000.
The legal description of the property is:
Lots 14 & 15, Block 1, Gulf Coast Retreats, Unit 1, as per plat thereof recorded in Plat Book 6, Page 78, of the Public Records of Hernando County, Florida, subject to easements, restrictions and reservations of record.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding for the Property Acquisition and associated costs, in the amount of $735,000.00, will be available with approval of the attached Budget Amendment in:

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the attached Contract for Sale and Purchase of Real Estate for the purchase of Parcel Key No. 152456, and designate the County Attorney's Office to sign all documents necessary to finalize and close the transaction. It is further recommended that the Board approve the attached associated budget amendment.
