BRIEF OVERVIEW

Hernando County’s Purchasing and Contracts Policies and Procedures manual was last revised November 9, 2020.  A revised Procurement Manual was presented to the BOCC on February 27, 2024.  At that time, the BOCC directed that the contingency portion of the manual as written required further discussion before approval and it was decided that the portion of the manual related to contingency funds would be discussed during a budget workshop.  The meeting date for that workshop is not yet determined, but is anticipated to be held during July 2024 budget workshops subsequent to the development of the proposed fiscal year 2025 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). Until such time as the BOCC engages in the CIP workshop the contingency portion of the manual has been removed and replaced with the County’s current policy.  A tracked changes version of the manual displaying all revisions from the February 27, 2024, presentation is attached.  

 

At the direction of the BOCC, the manual has been updated and is being recommended for approval.

 

This revision rescinds all policies and procedures included in the current manual, which includes:

It is recommended that the Board approve the revised Hernando County Procurement Manual to be effective upon Board approval.
