BRIEF OVERVIEW

Final Close-Out of Contract with American Construction Services, Inc., for Americans with Disabilities Act Bus Stop Improvements Project awarded by the Board on May 24, 2022, Doc Id. No. 19719, to American Construction Services, Inc., in the amount of $371,651.37.

 

Change Order One (1) was to install additional HDPE Pipe-Regrade-Sod ADA Bus Stop Improvements Phase III.  Total increase was for $16,875.00.  Purchase order was increased from $371,651.37 to $388,526.37.

 

Change Order Two (2) was a no-cost time extension to add 45 days from March 24, 2023, to May 8, 2023, due to supply shortages.

 

Change Order Three (3) was a no-cost time extension to add 53 days from May 8, 2023, to June 30, 2023, due to uncertainty of concrete pours.

 

Change Order Four (4) was a no-cost time extension to add 10 days from June 30, 2023, to July 10, 2023, to move Bus Stop 186 10 feet north.

 

Change Order Five (5) was a no-cost time extension to add 45 days from July 10, 2023, to August 24, 2023, to add additional time for weather and in case of concrete cancels.

 

The Final Contract amount is $388,526.37 (PO No. 22001004). 

 

The work has been completed and American Construction Services, Inc., has submitted its Final Pay Application No. Six (6) in the amount of $58,040.40.

 

All releases properly include Hernando County.  American Construction Services, Inc., has signed a release of lien.  No notices of lien or claims of lien have been filed on the project.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Funding in the amount of $58,040.40 is available in the following accounts: Account No. 34008-5606303 (Improv-Transit Routes) in the amount of $55,138.38 and Retainage Account No. 0011-2050203 in the amount of $2,902.02.

 

LEGAL NOTE

The Board has the authority to take the recommended action on this item pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended the Board approve final pay Request No. Six (6) in the amount of $58,040.40 to American Construction Services, Inc., to close out the Americans with Disabilities Act Bus Stop Improvements Project under Contract No. 22-CG0064/DK.

 

The Final Contract amount is $388,526.37, an increase of $16,875.00 from BOCC award.
