Notification of Letter to Duke Energy, LLC, Regarding Possible Extension of Dusky Warbler Road for Improved Emergency Service Response Time and Access to Suncoast Parkway

BRIEF OVERVIEW
As previously directed by the Board, the attached letter was submitted to Amy Finney, Manager of Asset Protection for Duke Energy, LLC, notifying of the County’s possible extension of Dusky Warbler Road across Key No. 330181 owned by Duke from its current terminus south of Delao Lane South to Centralia Road, to help improve emergency response times and access to the Suncoast Parkway in Hernando County.
To complete the extension, the County has requested a potential 60-foot corridor, wider than the existing 50-foot corridor on the Duke parcel, to allow for improved management of roadside drainage. An aerial map of the proposed corridor on the parcel is attached, noting that vehicles are already using the property for north-south travel.
