BRIEF OVERVIEW
On December 4, 2024, County Administrator Jeffrey Rogers signed a License/Use Agreement authorizing the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to utilize at no cost the Hernando County Public Library located at 6457 Windmere Road, Brooksville, Florida 34602, for a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) for the benefit of Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton victims. This License/Use Agreement will include approximately 125,000 square feet of indoor space within the library. Tables and chairs onsite will be available for FEMA use. FEMA shall have access to the parking onsite and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant indoor restrooms.
This agreement became effective on December 4, 2024, and will expire on January 9, 2025, unless terminated prior to that date with a ten-day calendar notice from either party or mutually agreed upon by both parties.
