BRIEF OVERVIEW

On December 2, 2025, the Development Services Director presented draft revisions to multiple sections of Appendix A (Zoning) of the Hernando County Land Regulations to the Board.  One of the items discussed was clarification on residential lot landscaping inspections.

 

The proposed ordinance amends Chapter 10, Article II, Section 10-29 of the Code and provides the following:

 

                     Clarifies the timing for landscaping inspections on vacant properties selected for development.

 

                     Provides for site inspection by the Development Services Division rather than the County Administrator or their designee.

 

Public Hearing History

This ordinance was heard by the Board of County Commissioners on March 3, 2026. No changes were made to the ordinance.

There is no financial impact associated with this request.

The Board has the authority to act on this matter pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.

It is recommended that the Board discuss the proposed ordinance, take public comment, and approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the ordinance.
