BRIEF OVERVIEW
Hernando County Fleet Management requests the sole source purchase of tire recycling equipment for the Solid Waste Department that can separate tires from heavy duty and large equipment such as semi-trucks, graders, tractors, and skid loaders without crushing or shattering the rim. The Brehmer Eagle International Portable Diesel Truck Tire Derimmer unit safely derims the tire and can handle tires on heavy-duty equipment.
Brehmer Manufacturing Inc. is the original equipment manufacturer of all Eagle International tire recycling equipment. The Eagle International Portable Diesel Truck Tire Derimmer is a sole source product manufactured, sold, and distributed by Brehmer Manufacturing.
The Procurement Department posted a Notice of Intended Sole Source to Brehmer Manufacturing, Inc. on August 19, 2026, with the last date of challenges being September 3, 2026. As of September 4, 2026, the Procurement Department did not receive any challenges.
The Chief Procurement Officer has reviewed this requirement for conformance to Procurement Ordinance and Purchasing Policies and Procedures.

Funding in the amount of $54,103.00 is available in the following:

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended the Board approve and authorize the Chairperson’s signature on the attached agreement for award to Brehmer Manufacturing, Inc. for (Contract No. 26-SS01397) in the estimated one-time purchase amount of $54,103.00.
