Notification From Department of Army Corps of Engineers Withdrawing Notice of Non-Compliance With Hernando Channel for Unauthorized Dredging and Release From Monitoring and Reporting Requirements

BRIEF OVERVIEW
Staff received the attached letter from the Department of The Army Corps of Engineers notifying the withdraw to the notice of non-compliance for unauthorized dredging of the Hernando Channel from Stations 5+00 to 20+00 and Stations 30+00 to 100+00. The dredging project resulted in an additional three (3) acres of unauthorized impacts to the seagrass habitat. The project is located at the Hernando Channel, in Section 1, Township 23 south, Range 16 east, City of Hernando Beach, Florida.
A review by the Environmental Science Associates indicated that mitigation has been successful reflecting the existence of 9.3 acres of seagrass habitat.
The monitoring and reporting requirements of the County per Special Condition 9 of the permit have been fulfilled and therefore no longer necessary.
