Budget Resolution Recognizing Additional Revenue From Duke Energy Foundation Grant for Economic Development

BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Office of Economic Development applied for and received a Duke Energy Foundation Grant in the amount of $20,000 to support marketing efforts of the Brooksville - Tampa Bay Regional Airport & Technology Center. When budgets were prepared in 2023 it was anticipated to receive $10,000, but actual amount received is $20,000.
This agenda item and attached budget resolution is to recognize the additional $10,000 awarded. The economic development grants are designed to help local organizations increase awareness of a community or region’s economic development strategies, product availability and to attract businesses and enhance the quality of life for Floridians.
The Duke Energy Foundation provides more than $30 million annually in philanthropic support to meet the needs of communities where Duke Energy customers live and work. The foundation is funded by Duke Energy shareholders.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Economic Development recognizes an additional $10,000 of grant funding in Account No. 0011-01771-3669904 PRT Grant-Duke Energy. The expense will be recognized in Account No. 0011-01771-5304801- Promotional Activities.

The Board is authorized to act on this matter pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.

It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the attached budget resolution.
