BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Procurement Department issued Invitation to Bid (ITB) No. 23-CTS005/DK on November 2, 2022, to obtain bids for the construction of Hernando County Fire Station No. 2.
The legal advertisement and the Invitation to Bid (ITB) were placed on the County's electronic website on November 2, 2022, as a two-step process. Step One was to prequalify construction firms and Step Two was to receive bids for the construction phase. The bid was sent to two thousand ninety-four (2,094) vendors from the website, direct solicitation was sent to twenty-three (23) vendors. The bid document was downloaded by forty-one (41) vendors. Four (4) submissions were received for pre-qualification (firms listed in alphabetical order).

Submissions were evaluated by Project Manager Erik Van De Boogaard and two (2) firms were deemed qualified for the size and scope of the Hernando County Fire Station No. 2 construction project.

The New Vista Builders Group bid submission was $6,187,194.00 and Scorpio's bid submission was $6,627.007.00.
The bid was evaluated based on price, conformance with specifications, and the Bidder's ability to perform the Contract in accordance with the terms, conditions and specifications required. Bid response was found to be responsive and responsible. Staff is recommending award to New Vista Builders Group in the amount of $6,187,194.00. The recommendation memo is attached. The estimated price for this project was $6,000,000.00.
The Chief Procurement Officer has reviewed this requirement for conformance to the Procurement Ordinance and Purchasing Policies and Procedures.
