BRIEF OVERVIEW
Section 5339 funding has been allocated to Hernando County. A Program of Projects (POP) was advertised indicating the activities in which the funding is to be utilized.

Capital (CAP) activities are eligible for reimbursement at 100% with the use of State toll/development revenue credits (20%) as a soft match which has been approved by the State. A copy of the State's Transportation Improvement Plan is attached reflecting the available funding. Additionally, Section 5339 funding was appropriated by the Governor for Hernando County per the attached letters from the Florida Department of Transportation.

The application was submitted and awarded to procure the replacement of fixed route bus. A Federal Transit Administration (FTA) budget revision has been approved by FTA to add another line to the grant to purchase/replace the operations van.

Board of County Commissioners approval of this award was expected to be in December 2022. Due to the staff changes in this position, the Board of County Commissioners approval of this award was missed. As of this date, no funds have been expensed. Final award was given by FTA on September 16, 2023.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
5339 funds apportioned to Spring Hill, Florida UZA in Hernando County, Florida in the amount of $498,203 - The funding allocations proposed to be used are from the FY18 Apportionment in the amount of $4,762, the FY19 Apportionment in the amount of $242,472, the FY20 in the amount of $249,376, and the FY21 in the amount of $1,593.

Local Match Information: Florida Toll Revenue/Transportation Development Credits in the amount of $124,551 as soft match were approved on February 15, 2022, and increased on September 14, 2022, by the Florida Department of Transportation to be used as the 20% local capital match.
