BRIEF OVERVIEW
On July 16, 2019, the Board approved the award of Contract No. 19-TF0083/DK, Doc ID No. 15907, to ACJ Air Conditioning and Heating Inc. (now known as Amen Air, Inc.)
Air Mechanical and Service Corporation and Tampa Bay System Sales d/b/a Tampa Bay Trane Air Mechanical and Service Corporation for facility heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) repairs on systems up to five (5) tons to be used on a rotational and on an as-needed basis.
The Hernando County Facilities Department obtained a quote for the replacement of the split roof top air conditioning systems for the Records Storage Building in the amount of $72,276.15.
Per recommendation from previous Board approval (Doc ID No. 15907), all purchases exceeding the Advertised Bid Requirement (ABR) of $35,000.00 will be brought before the Board for purchase approval.
The Facilities Department Manager has determined that pricing obtained is fair and reasonable for this type/quantity of purchase and work. The purpose of this purchase is to replace six (6) split rooftop air conditioning systems for the Records Storage Building.
The Chief Procurement Officer has reviewed this requirement for conformance to Procurement Ordinance and Purchasing Policies and Procedures.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding is available in Expense Account 0011-01701-5304601, Repair/Maint-Bldg & Ground

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board approve the purchase of six (6) new air conditioning systems from Contractor Amen Air, Inc., for the Records Storage Building in the project amount of $72,276.15 under Contract No. 19-TF0083/DK entitled HVAC Service on Systems up to five (5) tons.
