body
BRIEF OVERVIEW
On Thursday May 26, 2022, the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) issued a Provisional No Further Action Proposal Approval indicating that the County has met the requirements set by FDEP for the corrective actions concerning the Former DPW site on Martin Luther King Boulevard.

The next step is to abandon and plug the existing monitoring wells in accordance with an anticipated Conditional Site Rehabilitation Completion Order (CSRCO) and recording a Restrictive Covenant for the property stating the proposed uses and the restrictions concerning using public water supplies and no ground water wells will be allowed.

Attached is a revised scope of work with Cardno, Inc., which includes drafting and issuing an IC/EC Package with Declaration of Restrictive Covenant (DRC) and ECMP along with issuance of the CSRCO followed by the abandonment of all monitor wells. Cardno, Inc. will also prepare a Well Abandonment/Site Restoration Report summarizing the following: copies of permits, summary of work performed, an updated site map of abandoned wells, well completion logs for all wells abandoned, waste manifests and bills of lading for materials for disposal, photographic documentation of abandonment and restoration activity, and a copy of field notes.

The attached Legal Services Agreement with Mechanik, Nuccio, Hearne & Wester will provide representation in the regulatory environmental closure process of the former fleet maintenance facility site located at 201 West Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Brooksville, Florida.

FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funding for the additional cost in amount of $81,063.00 is available in Account No. 7552-09552-5303103 (Stormwater Management MSTU, Professional Services-Engineering).
