BRIEF OVERVIEW

The Facilities Department requested an emergency purchase order on October 9, 2023, due to the failure of the fire suppression water pump at the Chinsegut Hill Facilities.

 

The Procurement Department issued Purchase Order No. 24000073 in the amount of $50,000.00 on October 9, 2023, to RJH Technical Services for the rental and installation of the fire pump to make the facility safe for operation.  Procurement is bringing the purchase order to the Board for ratification. 

 

The Contractor has submitted an invoice for $31,239.00. This includes all deployment, setup, temporary and permanent welded piping connections, all piping, stands/supports, testing and the first month’s rental. The only future incurred costs will be monthly rental in the amount of $8500.00 per month, which will be made against the current PO until a permanent fire pump installation is completed.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Funding in the amount of $ 31,239.00 is available in Account No. 01703-5304601, Repair/Maint-Bldg & Grd.

In accordance with Part II, Chapter 2, Article V of the Hernando County Code of Ordinances, as well as Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Board ratify Purchase Order No. 24000073 in the amount of $31,239.00 to RJH Technical Services, for fire pump rental, installation and first month’s rent and future rental payments of $8,500.00 monthly until the permanent fire pump is installed, and authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to approve change orders if they become necessary and required.
