BRIEF OVERVIEW

Hernando County Fleet Management is requesting the ability to purchase a total of ninety-eight (98) vehicles/equipment for the County. Thirty-two (32) are additions to the Vehicle Replacement Program and sixty-six (66) are actual replacements.  All sixty-six (66) of the vehicles and equipment being turned in by the departments will go to surplus.  The estimated cost to purchase the vehicles and equipment is $17,852,851. Nine (9) of the vehicles and equipment will be purchased by departments utilizing the one-time payment option estimated at $945,122. Nine (9) of the vehicles and equipment will be purchased by departments by grant funds estimated at $2,544,117. Ten (10) of the vehicles and equipment will be leased by departments estimated at $3,810,161.  The remaining seventy (70) vehicles and equipment will be a part of the Fleet Replacement Program, with the estimated cost is $10,553,454. Funds will be available with the approval of the requested loan.  Departments have budgeted for these vehicles in their FY 24 budgets.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

Funding for vehicles and equipment will be available in the Fleet Replacement Program Account No. 5081-08031-5606405 with approval of the attached replacement list. 

 

LEGAL NOTE

Approval by the Board is in accordance with Hernando County Procurement Ordinance, Part II, Chapter 2, Article 2, Article V.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended the Board approve and authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to sign and award purchase orders for vehicles and equipment under the Fleet Replacement Program as budgets allow.  It is further recommended the Board approve the loan request(s) as they are requested.
