BRIEF OVERVIEW
The wellness center has been a valuable resource in promoting employee health and well-being. To better accommodate the growing needs and expand available services, additional space is necessary. This lease expansion will provide the necessary room to support wellness initiatives and enhance services.
The attached lease agreement for 20182 and 20186 Cortez Boulevard, Brooksville, will be the site of the Wellness Center for the employees and their dependents. The additional space, adjacent to the current wellness center location, also located within parcel Key No. 984732, will provide approximately 2,000 additional square feet for an additional $2,200 per month.
Staff recommends approval of the new lease with owner Robert A. Buckner to support the continued growth of the wellness center and its benefit to employees.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The current base rate from March 1, 2025, to September 30, 2025, is $3,441 monthly for the remaining 7 months, which is $24,087. The additional $2,200 per month would add $15,400 to that amount, which would combine to equal $39,487 for the remainder of FY25. Funding for the Lease Agreement is available, pending BA2025-058, in:

It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the attached lease agreement with Robert A. Buckner for the Wellness Center.
