BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Procurement Department issued Invitation to Bid (ITB) No. 24-T00821/JC on August 14, 2024, at the request of the Hernando County Fire Rescue Department to obtain bids for the Mowing/Landscaping Services for Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services.
The Procurement Department placed the legal advertisement in the Hernando Sun on August 16, 2024, the Tampa Bay Times on August 18, 2024, and the OpenGov website on August 14 ,2024. The bid was sent to three thousand three hundred and twenty-one (3,321) matching vendors/contractors from the website. The bid document was downloaded by forty-four (44) vendor/contractors and five (5) bid submissions were received.
Bids received are for one (1) mowing cycle for eleven (11) fire stations, with an estimation of twenty-four (24) mowing cycles per calendar year:

Bids were reviewed and evaluated by the Procurement Department to determine if they were responsive and responsible. The bids were then reviewed and evaluated by the Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services Department for award recommendation based on price, conformance with specifications and the Bidder's ability to perform the contract in accordance with the terms, conditions and specifications required.
The estimated annual expenditure is based on twenty-four (24) mowing cycles per year: $1,225.00 x 24 = $29,400 annual
The resulting contract is for a three (3) year term with two (2) additional one (1) year unilateral renewal options in the amount of $88,200.00.
