BRIEF OVERVIEW

Wannemacher Jensen Architects, Inc., was awarded Contract No. 19-R00025/PH for Fire Station No. Five (5) Architectural and Design Services Prototype Implementation, refer to MT item 15690, attached.

 

As part of the proposal for Fire Station Five (5), the selected architectural firm was asked to design a fire station prototype to be used for future stations.  As the Architect of Record, staff is requesting the services of Wannemacher Jensen Architects, Inc., to provide site design for a future 3-bay, 7-dorm fire station and placement of a portable double-wide temporary fire station, 3-bay canopy for apparatus, water well design, and fuel depot.

 

The Department wants to utilize the prototype via Amendment No. Two (2) to Contract No. 19-R00025/PH for Fire Station No. Fifteen (15) Architectural and Design Services.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

A budget amendment is attached to move $177,460 from Account No. 1661-02276-5909910 Reserves for Contingency to Account No. 1661-02276-5303101 Professional Services.   This is the Fire Impact Fee fund which is utilized for construction of new capital projects due to the growth within the County.

The Board has the authority to take the recommended action pursuant to Part II, Chapter 2, Article V of the Hernando County Code of Ordinances

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on attached Amendment No. 2 for Architectural and Engineering Design Services for Fire Station No. 15 with Wannemacher Jensen Architects, Inc., in the amount of $177,406.00.  It is further recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chief Procurement Officer to approve change orders as they become necessary and required.
