BRIEF OVERVIEW
The Procurement Department issued Invitation to Bid (ITB) No. 26-C01265/GB on February 4, 2026, at the request of the Hernando County Fire and EMS Department, to obtain bids for the Construction of Fire Station 15.
The Procurement Department placed the legal advertisement in the Hernando Sun and Tampa Bay Times on February 04, 2026, and the OpenGov website on February 06, 2026. The bid was sent to nine hundred and fifty-nine (959) matching vendor/contractors from the website. The bid document was downloaded by one hundred (100) vendor/contractors and eleven (11) submissions were received.

Bids were reviewed and evaluated by the Procurement Department to determine if bids were responsive and responsible. The bids were then reviewed and evaluated by the Hernando County Construction Projects Coordinator for award recommendation based on price, conformance with specifications and the Bidder's ability to perform the contract in accordance with the terms, conditions and specifications required. Two bids were deemed non-responsive (Mainstay Construction Services, LLC, and Rycon Construction, Inc.) and one bid was deemed non-responsible (Blackwater Construction Services). Bid pricing is inclusive of owner's contingency in the amount of $250,000.
