Budget Amendment Transferring Funds From Reserves for Contingency to Repairs and Maintenance for Repair and Maintenance Projects at Hernando County Fire and Rescue Logistics Warehouse Located at 7300 Winter Street; and Hernando County Fire Facility Located at 60 Veterans Way

BRIEF OVERVIEW
In December, the Board approved the purchase of a warehouse at 7300 Winter Street for Hernando County Fire Rescue and Emergency Services (HCFR). Staff is requesting to move funds from Reserves to Repairs and Maintenance in order to provide necessary maintenance to the new building, to include fencing around the outside of the property, installation of a generator to maintain power during hurricanes, painting the exterior of the warehouse, adding IT equipment for internet capabilities, installing scanners to access to the building by utilizing badges, and installing a few cameras for security. These projects combine to total $276,000.00 at this location.
HCFR is also requesting maintenance and repairs to be performed at our old facility located at 60 Veterans Way. These projects include three new HVAC systems, a roof resealing, replacement of flooring inside the facility and painting of the interior building. These projects combine to total $170,000 at this location.
All projects will follow the Purchasing and Procurement policies as set forth by the Board.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
The budget amendment would impact funds 1661(Fire) and 1691 (EMS) to share the costs equally. The total of the projects equal $446,000, split $223,000 per fund:
