BRIEF OVERVIEW

Hernando County Emergency Management and Hernando County Fire and Emergency Services applied for the Hurricane Loss Mitigation Grant through the Florida Department of Emergency Management for the retrofitting of hurricane protection for Fire Station No. 1 located on Parker Avenue in Spring Hill.  This retrofit will allow for hurricane impact windows, hurricane impact garage bay doors and a metal roof.  The award of the grant is for $194,000.00 with no matching funds.     

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

The grant is reimbursable at 100% reimbursement.  Please see the attached budget resolution for approval.

 

LEGAL NOTE

The Board has the authority to act on this item pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.

RECOMMENDATION

It is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Chairman’s signature on the attached grant agreement and associated budget resolution to recognize the State Department Division of Emergency Management’s Hurricane Loss Mitigation Grant award.
