BRIEF OVERVIEW
Library Services seeks the approval to apply for the Seeds of Knowledge Library Demonstration Garden Grant offered by the Florida Wildflower Foundation. This grant provides Florida public libraries the opportunity to create a vibrant demonstration garden featuring native plants and to engage the community in learning about Florida’s native flora and pollinators.
This project will be held at the Spring Hill Branch Library. Although the application is not yet available for submission, the Foundation has announced the upcoming cycle (opens January 1, 2026, deadline February 15, 2026).
By preparing now and obtaining Board authorization, the library will be well positioned to initiate the required planning, site-preparation, partnership outreach, and application submission.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
If awarded, the library may receive up to $750 for native plants and demonstration garden materials.

The Board has the authority to act upon this matter pursuant to Chapter 125, Florida Statutes.
