BRIEF OVERVIEW
On January 10, 2023, the Board approved the piggyback utilization of the Polk County Contract with Asphalt Paving Systems, Inc., in the amount of $2,000,000.00 for Pavement Preservation and Recycling Treatments for the Department of Public Works.
The piggyback contract was awarded by Polk County with the term contract dates of June 13, 2022, through April 30, 2025.
For tracking purposes, Hernando County Procurement assigned Contract No. 23-P0008/DK.
The initial estimated projects and costs for this approved contract were:
* Croom Road $ 448,872.80
* Endsley Road $ 513,549.85
* Fort Dade Avenue $1,153,971.40
$2,116,394.05
The Department is requesting to increase the estimated annual spend amount by $1,500,000 from the previously approved $2,000,000 to a total of $3,500,000 for the following projects and roads:
* Croom Road $ 448,872.80
* Endsley Road $ 513,549.85
* Fort Dade Ave $1,153,971.40
* Garden Grove $ 954,765.90
* Azora $ 24,059.20
* Gulfview $ 17,462.00
* Tierra Drive $ 24,804.00
$3,137,485.15
The Chief Procurement Officer has reviewed this requirement for conformance to
Procurement Ordinance and Purchasing Policies and Procedures.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds are available in the following accounts:
* $130,460.70 in 1011-03051-5303401 Transportation Trust Fund, Road Maint, Contract Services
* $1,602,884.20 in 1022-03241-5616305 Addl Logt 1-5 Gas Tax, Improv-Pvmt Mgmt (Collector)
* $1,468,315.75 in 1022-03241-5616367 Addl Logt 1-5 Gas Tax, Improv-Pvmt Mgmt (Residential)
