One vacancy exists on the Planning and Zoning Commission due to the resignation of Kathryn Birren as a regular member, effective June 24, 2026.
A total of 2 applications were received for the Planning and Zoning Commission:

Members to the Planning and Zoning Commission are appointed under Board Policy 06-01 which prescribes individuals shall be appointed by Commission District, qualification, and expertise. Regular members are selected by each individual County Commissioner.
The applications received are provided as attachments to the agenda item.

No financial impact, a matter of policy.

The Board has the authority to act on this request accordance with Chapter 125, Florida Statutes and Board Policy 06-01.

RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the Board review the applications and appoint a regular member representing District 2 to the Planning and Zoning Commission, effective until December 31, 2026.
1. The recommendation for the appointment of District 2, will be made by Commissioner Mitten in accordance with Policy 06-01.
